Specifications: The Archos 7 Internet Media Tablet is a portable audio/video device with a few extra features such as web browsing capabilities. For starters it has a gigantic (relatively) 7inch TFT touch screen with a 800 x 480 resolution. It has a 160GB built-in hard drive and a rechargeable lithium polymer battery. The battery can last of up to 36 hours (of music playback) and 10 hours of video playback.
Design: The Archos 7 Internet Media Tablet is much larger than the iPod touch, measuring at 7.5 x 0.6 x 4.3 inches and weighing at 1.4 pounds. It is nevertheless still very portable and can easily fit into your bag. It has a bronze/brown metallic exterior and has minimalist, subtle curves.
Features & Performance: With the Archos 7 Internet Media Tablet, you can surf the web through the use of wi-fi or 3G connections. The quality of audio and video playback on this device is pretty good. With this model, you can even view and record TV programs with the optional DVR station. If you get the hi-def video plug-in, you will be able to watch HD movies (720p) at 24 frames per second. The touch screen on this model works well but it is not as responsive as the iPod touch’s screen. In terms of features and applications, it is also not as versatile as the iPod touch. Nevertheless, if you are planning to get a small portable device mainly for video playback and surfing the internet, you should definitely get the Archos 7 Internet Media Tablet. I would give this device three and a half stars over five stars.
