what portable media player is best?
hi all,
i’m looking to get a portable media player but wanting to avoid iPod, do not like itunes, i’ve been looking at the archos 605 wifi, the 160gb version, but i have read some pretty bad reviews bout it, so i’m asking if anyone can offer some alternatives, the player must be
over 100gb
touch screen
at least a 3″ screen
be between £100 – £200

I don’t know what reviews you have seen about the Archos because they are one of the best multi media players you can buy I myself have an Archos 605 wifi and it has a better sound quality that my ipod and iphone
also with the Archos I can hook it up to my tv directly or via freeview cable or sat box and use it as a hard drive recorder so you can view your recordings on your tv or on the Archos itself also has the ability to download dvds and if hooked up to a surround sound can play back in 5.1 surround and you can play dvds through your tv if even though the manual states that you cannot due to copy right but if you copy it to your hard drive first using dvd shrink or anydvd software which are both free down loads and this is only a fraction of what it is capable of so as you may have gathered buy now I would recommend the Archos I’vee had mine since they first came on the market and have droped it and accidentally kicked it across the room a few times and it sill works perfectly hope this helps
